Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Programs (Associate and Bachelor’s degrees)
Associate Programs
Students who seek admission to an associate degree program at IBI of Cambodia must have completed high school grade 12 and have taken the High School National Exam (with either “PASSED” or “FAILED” results).
Students who are unable to finish their high school education typically pursue an associate’s degree; if there is enough student enrollment, there are a number of programs available for those who would like to pursue this degree. A certificate from the national high school exam is required for enrollment in an associate’s program, regardless of pass/fail status. To earn an Associate Degree, a student must enroll in classes full-time for two years. Typically, they must finish the following tasks:
- The requirements for their specific majors, which are usually 30 credits;
- The General Education requirements, which are 27 credits;
- A few more elective courses, which total 15 credits for students.
A student who has earned an associate’s degree can go on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the same subject and apply some of the credits earned for the associate’s degree toward their bachelor’s program. The credit system utilized by American institutions is applied by the IBI. If their previous university offers courses that are comparable to those offered at IBI and their grades are high enough, students pursuing an Associate’s degree at another university may choose to transfer their credits, up to 24 in total, towards a degree at IBI.
